Carbon fork?
I have an aluminum road bikes cheap Schwinn (yes I know) with 700c wheels. The ride is very hard (I full suspension bike). The tail is not too bad, but the jars in front of my hands hurt. Like many carbon-fiber fork cushion for my trip. It would be a carbon-fiber handlebars help even more. I found a joint tenant that fits my bike for under $ 100. A Cabon Fiber handlebars should be about $ 200. Also, if I go as far as I am, as you can get a seat post Carbon fiber well. What would all this to my horse? This bike has a frame and all decent Shimano gears / cassette / crank. It weighs just under 24 pounds wet. It could be an awesome bike, no matter what some say (which is very good now, except for travel).
Carbon fiber fork helps. It damp vibrations. A couple more suggestions: a band of cork handlebar Cinelli ($ 12). And a couple of tires at least 700x23 size or larger. I suggest a couple of impressive stereotype Veloflex tires. One of the most lightweight, durable (non-flat in 2000 miles and still shows wire) and more comfortable tires. 110-120 psi pump. Carbon rods are not always a good answer. Some are very rigid, but all are expensive. There are many bars with flat top that you might like.
